This relationship building idea comes from Suzanne Rowe, the Girls Ministry Associate at First Baptist Church Cleveland, TN.  However, it originated from Leslie Hollowell, Director of Girls Ministry at Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova, TN.  Suzanne merely tweaked it to meet her needs, as could you!

DIG

First Baptist Church of Cleveland, Tennessee

Cleveland, TN

The first week of every month (usually a Wednesday afternoon, so I can promote that our questions are now live on the blog at youth group) DIG Questions are posted to the Girls Ministry Blog (www.girlsforhisglory.com). The first THREE girls to comment on the blog with the correct answers to the 10 Bible questions posted win a "date" with me for free ice cream, coffee, dinner, whatever they want really (though under $10 a person). The girl date must be held within that month. I do not post the comments to the blog until after a week or so has gone by, so that as many girls that want to try can. No one knows if the 3 have won yet because I moderate the comments and do not let them go live until then.

Goals: Bible Intake and Study, Discipleship and Relationship building with their Girls Minister and traffic to the blog to encourage it to be a place that girls go to for info and devotions.

Larger churches may want to make the number of winner larger and the prize cheaper. I have about 130-150 girls I am working with so 3 works best for me. Bellevue does this with 5 winners.

You can also add additional incentives. I am thinking of having a Sunday School Challenge as well...if all of members of a Sunday School class answer first they will get a Sunday School outing...like lunch after church or one of our Girls Ministry T-shirts, etc.
