A Sweet Slice of Encouragement Pie

I just finished my very first Girls Event this past Friday night at our new church.  After doing Girls Ministry full time for six years, it was an interesting experience to create and pull off an event from home -- while chasing my almost-one-year-old around the house.  Often my phone calls sounded like this:

"Um, yes, my name is Kristen Carr and I am interested in pricing ... Tate, no, no!  You may not put your hands in the outlet ... Oh, yes, I'm sorry, I was saying that I am interested in pricing ..."

While I know that most of you girls don’t have to fight this particular battle ... I know that you have to fight some battle.  It's amazing to me how hard Satan works to discourage us, to take our joy, to make us question why the heck we are doing what we are doing.  Here's what Jesus reminded me of, this past Friday morning when I was in the thick of battle....

"Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm, Let nothing move you.  Always give yourselves  FULLY to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor is not in vain."  1 Cor 15:38 [emphasis mine]

So, here's my thought for you this morning.  I don't know if you are in the middle of planning a spring event, retreat, mission trip or just doing intercessory battle for one of your girls ... but one this is sure: attack is coming, and you will be tempted to give up -- or at least hand over your joy!  But Hebrews 10 says we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed!  So, we can not throw away our confidence for He who is coming, WILL COME and will NOT delay.

Hang in there sister, attack is coming, but so is victory.  And Victory is clothed in robes of righteousness, carrying a garment of praise and wielding the sword of the Spirit.  Praise to you Jesus, Mighty Warrior, Strong in Battle, come and complete what you have started in each of our ministries today, with great victory -- for You are the Conquering King.

Maria

I am fairly new in my role as the junior girls leader at church (ages 8-12) and have no formal training at all.  I felt the call of God on my heart in this area and am just so excited and overwhelmed at the same time.  Can someone point me in the right direction?
