During our current quarter, my students and I have been studying the book of James. So far the study has been pretty challenging - not only for the students but for myself as well. Last year, Delight Girls Ministry had the great joy and responsibility of launching an entire ministry geared specifically toward teenage girls in 6th-12th grades. I dreamed for years about what a girls' ministry might look like in my local church and spent all summer planning and recruiting a lead team to help launch when school started last Fall. Bigger is Better?Staci Capps
What kind of messages are we sending girls today? I question that in myself sometimes. I show examples, and tell stories of people who were faithful to Christ and then “big” things resulted. These are encouraging, inspiring stories that should be shared.
But what about the small victories? How often do I share that faithfulness will often result in, well…. results that are sometimes hard to see. At least as far as our “bigger is better” world would conclude. Success to us is often defined by big numbers: followers, members, likes, ...

Top 5 Reasons We're Going to OUTFIT5. Because every girl loves a good Outfit. ;) This weekend just happens to include the best tips on how to Outfit ourselves and our ministries in the very best spiritual digs.
4. Because as Girls Ministers we need to take a break from teaching swimming lessons in order to soak in the pool ourselves sometimes. I know that swimming has nothing to do with the word "outfit" but I love the analogy of submersing ourselves in truth for two whole days of beautiful, relaxing, convicting TRUTH.

After doing Girls Ministry full time for six years, it was an interesting experience to create and pull off an event from home -- while chasing my almost-one-year-old around the house. Often my phone calls sounded like this:

Unlike late night’s “Top Ten” it’s hard to put an order to the workings of God. I mean, what’s more amazing: God parting the Red sea, allowing thousands to pass through un-harmed or God bringing back to life one man who had been dead 3 days? Yea, I think you see what we mean. :)

Truly UglyLaura Reynolds
Have you heard of the new “Ugly Meter” iphone app? Users take a picture of someone’s face on their iphone that will then be judged by the “ugly meter” to determine ugliness on a scale of 1 to 10. This troubles me, because it’s just one more thing girls to be ridiculed about and to be tempted to ridicule other girls about.
This app has the potential to lower the self-esteem of teenage girls (and boys alike) in seconds. They’ll laugh with their friends about it on the outside while cringing on the inside. But I believe something even greater ...
