“When is this going to end? When am I going to get a break? When is life going to slow down long enough for me to catch my breath.” Have you ever been in the thick of issues and struggles and wondered when some good was going to come your way?

The psalmist points to those in such situations – “There are many who say, ‘Who will show us some good? Lift up the light of your face upon us, O LORD!’” (Psalm 4:6-7) Sometimes we feel like we just need a break – someone to show us some good for a change. And who better than the Lord?

Well, the truth of the matter is He’s already shown us much good. Though we deserve nothing but evil for our sin and selfishness, He’s lavished us with His goodness and grace. The psalmist goes on to say, “You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound.” (Psalm 4:7)

Every girl you’ve encountered this week may be on the brink of disaster. Your fall retreat may be falling apart. No one may be signing up for girl’s bible study. And the middle school girls in your ministry may be in the most dramatic dispute of the century. But I hope you’re reminded today, as I’ve been, that our God is good!
